Las Vegas Snowy Day :D

Ha! It was only One single day of SNOWING in Las Vegas!
But yeah that was already kind of a lot since Vegas usually only get snow once every five years, so I got lucky this year ;)

It was quite heavy, snow was like 4 inches / 10 cm in the ground and they were closing the Las Vegas McCarran Airport due to snow! And for me, I didn't get to see my bf that day and pool night was cancelled!

However, the whiteness seemed to make everything look PURE and HOLY :) and it makes me feels more that Christmasy feeling.. Christmas is coming!

How a 7 years old explaining about SEX ?

Little Johnny was 7 years old and like other boys his age rather curious.

He had been hearing quite a bit about ‘making out’ from the older boys, and he wondered what it was and how it was done.

One day he took his question to his mother, who became rather flustered. Instead of explaining things to Johnny, she told him to hide behind the curtains one night and watch his older sister and her boyfriend.

This he did. The following morning, Johnny described EVERYTHING to his mother.

"Sis and her boyfriend sat and talked for a while, then he turned off most of the lights. Then he started kissing and hugging her. I figured ‘Sis must be getting sick, because her face started looking funny.

He must have thought so too, because he put his hand inside her blouse to feel her heart, just the way the doctor would. Except he’s not as smart as the doctor because he seemed to have trouble finding her heart. I guess he was getting sick too, because pretty soon both of them started panting and getting all out of breath.

His other hand must have been cold because he put it under her skirt.

About this time ‘Sis got worse and began to moan and sigh and squirm around and slide down toward the end of the couch. This was when her fever started. I knew it was a fever, because Sis told him she felt really hot.

Finally, I found out what was making them so sick a big eel; had gotten inside his pants somehow. It just jumped out of his pants and stood there, about 10 inches long, honest, anyway he grabbed it in one hand to keep it from getting away.

When Sis saw it, she got really scared-her eyes got big, and her mouth fell open, and she started calling out to God and stuff like that. She said it was the biggest one she’s ever seen. I should tell her about the ones down at the lake by our house!

Anyway, Sis got brave and tried to kill the eel by biting its head off. All of a sudden she grabbed it with both hands and held it tight while he took a muzzle out of his pocket and slipped it over the eel’s head to keep it from biting again.

Sis lay back and spread her legs so she could get a scissor-lock on it and he helped by lying on top of the eel. The eel put up a hell of a fight.

Sis started groaning and squealing and her boyfriend almost upset the couch. I guess they wanted to kill the eel by squashing it between them.

After a while they both quit moving and gave a great sigh. Her boyfriend got up, and sure enough, they killed the eel. I knew because it just hung there, limp, and some of its insides were hanging out.

Sis and her boyfriend were a little tired from the battle, but they went back to courting anyway. He started hugging and kissing her again. By golly,
the eel wasn’t dead! It jumped straight up and started to fight again.

I guess eels are like cats- they have nine lives or something. This time, Sis jumped up and tried to kill it by sitting on it. After about a 35 minute struggle, they finally killed the eel. I knew it was dead, because I saw Sis’s boyfriend peel its skin off and flush it down the toilet…

....

On Our 5 Months Anniversary and Always

It's Our 5 Months!!! ^_^

Well, we didn't actually done something special for our 5 months tho.. We went to CheeseCake Factory (the one in Forum Shops, Caesar Palace) for dinner because the 15th was Monday and not specially fell on weekend. And it's almost Christmas!! So we decided for not doing anything big for now and just celebrate Christmas joyously :)

That weekend tho we went to Bellagio to check out the Atrium; since this time of the year they have all in *Christmas Theme*.. It was very pretty although there was a lot of people so that it was kind of hard to take pictures :( nevertheless, we had a great time at the Strip, got a Bailey's Gelato and for the 1st time Jason talked to my Mom (on the phone) :D ... We also hit Forum Shops to check out expensive watches (haha window shopping of course :p), and then.... we went to checked out the new Mirage's new volcano!! so COOL!

Saturday we went to his parent's house to help decorating the Christmas Tree :D and then we watched Bolt! on 3D ^_^ then watch Christmas Episode of Doctor Who.

HPV Vaccine to Prevent Cervical Cancer

What is GARDASIL?
GARDASIL is the only cervical cancer vaccine that helps protect against 4 types of human papillomavirus (HPV): 2 types that cause 70% of cervical cancer cases, and 2 more types that cause 90% of genital warts cases. The duration of protection of GARDASIL has not been established.

Who should get vaccinated with Gardasil?
GARDASIL is for girls and young women ages 9 to 26. Vaccination is recommended for girls as young as 9 because GARDASIL works when given before there is any contact with HPV Types 6, 11, 16, and 18.

If you're already sexually active, you may still benefit from GARDASIL. That's because even if you have been exposed to HPV, it's unlikely that you have been exposed to all the types of the virus covered by this cervical cancer vaccine. That means GARDASIL could still help guard you against HPV types you haven't been exposed to.

3 doses for protection
GARDASIL is given in 3 doses over 6 months.

If I get vaccinated, do I still need to get Pap tests?
Yes. Vaccination with GARDASIL does not take the place of Pap testsPap test
A Pap test, also known as a Pap smear, is part of the gynecological exam and helps detect abnormal cells in the lining of the cervix before they have a chance to become precancers or cervical cancer.

You should always follow your doctor or healthcare professional's advice on getting Pap tests. Pap tests have been proven to help save lives. A Pap test looks for abnormal cells in the lining of the cervix before they have the chance to become precancers or cervical cancer.

And since GARDASIL does not protect against all types of HPV, Pap tests will still be an important part of taking control of your health—and taking care of yourself.

If I'm already sexually active, is it too late for me to get vaccinated?
No, it's not. Only your doctor or healthcare professional can tell you if GARDASIL is right for you. But, if you're already sexually active, you may still benefit from GARDASIL. That's because even if you have been exposed to HPV, it's unlikely that you have been exposed to all 4 types of the virus covered by GARDASIL.

Getting vaccinated now could help guard you against HPV Types 6, 11, 16, and 18 if you are exposed to them in the future.

Why is GARDASIL only for girls and young women ages 9 to 26?GARDASIL is only for girls and young women ages 9 to 26 because the clinical trials for GARDASIL included females within this age group. GARDASIL was initially studied in this age group because the majority of women who have HPV are exposed to it in their teens and 20s.

GARDASIL works best when given before there is any contact with HPV Types 6, 11, 16, and 18. That's why GARDASIL is recommended for girls as young as 9 years old.

If you are older than 26, you may still be at risk for HPV, including Types 6, 11, 16, and 18. So, be sure to continue getting Pap tests as often as your doctor or healthcare professional recommends.

What if I'm late getting my second or third dose of GARDASIL?
Ideally, your vaccination schedule should be:

First dose: at a date you and your doctor or healthcare professional choose.
Second dose: 2 months after the first dose.
Third dose: 6 months after the first dose.
If you're a few days late getting your second or third dose of GARDASIL, don't panic. If you miss a dose, your doctor or healthcare professional will decide when to give the missed dose.

If HPV causes cervical cancer, why does GARDASIL only protect against 70% of cervical cancer cases?

Cervical cancer is cancer of the cervix. Cervical cancer is a serious condition that can be life threatening and it can be caused by about 10 to 30 types of HPV, Genital HPV (human papillomavirus)

GARDASIL helps guard against 2 of these types—HPV Types 16 and 18. These 2 types of HPV cause 70% of cervical cancer cases.

Why can't men get vaccinated with GARDASIL?
While men are at risk for HPV Types 6, 11, 16, and 18, GARDASIL is not approved for use in men.

Home Pregnancy Tests

Home pregnancy tests can find the presence of a pregnancy hormone (called human chorionic gonadotropin, or hCG) in a sample of urine. High levels of hCG are made during pregnancy. The home tests have similar results to the pregnancy tests done on urine in most health professionals' offices if they are used exactly as instructed.

When a woman becomes pregnant, the egg is generally fertilized by a sperm cell in a fallopian tube (conception). Within 9 days after fertilization, the egg moves down the fallopian tube into the uterus and attaches (implants) to the wall of the uterus. When the fertilized egg implants, the placenta starts to develop and begins to release hCG into the woman's blood. Some of this hCG also passes in her urine. In the first few weeks of pregnancy, the amount of hCG in the urine gets higher very quickly-it doubles every 2 to 3 days.

There are two basic types of home pregnancy tests.

The most common types of home pregnancy tests use a test strip or dipstick that you hold in the urine stream or dip into a sample of urine. An area on the end of the dipstick or test strip changes color if hCG is present, meaning you are pregnant.
A second type uses a urine collection cup with a test device. To use this type of test, you may place several drops of urine into a well in the test device or you put the test device into urine collected in a cup. An area of the device changes color if hCG is present, meaning you are pregnant.
The first urine of the morning (that has collected in the bladder overnight) is the best one to use and has the most accurate test results.

The accuracy of home pregnancy tests are different for every woman because:

The days of a woman's menstrual cycle and ovulation can change each month.
The exact day of implantation of the fertilized egg is not always known.
Each home pregnancy test kit has a different sensitivity to find hCG. If the level is very low, the first urine of the morning is the most likely to show a positive result.
While a few home pregnancy tests may be sensitive enough to show a pregnancy on the first day of a woman's missed period, most test kits are more accurate about a week after a missed period.

Home pregnancy kits are available on the Internet.

Why It Is Done
A home pregnancy test is done to detect pregnancy by detecting human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) in your urine.

How To Prepare
You can buy home pregnancy test kits without a prescription in many pharmacies and supermarkets.

The test kits generally have plastic dipsticks or test strips and instructions that explain how to do the test. Some kits have a urine collection cup and a dipstick that you dip in urine. Midstream kits have a test strip that you hold in your stream of urine for several seconds. All kits tell you to wait a specific amount of time before reading the results.

When to test
Home pregnancy kits can be used on the first day of a missed menstrual period. However, the test results are more accurate if you wait a few days longer (~1 week). If you do the test as soon as you have missed a period and the results show you are not pregnant (negative results), repeat the test in 2 week if your menstrual period has not started, or have a pregnancy test done at your health professional's office or a clinic.

General instructions
For any home test, you should follow some general guidelines:

Check the expiration date on the package. Do not use a test kit after its expiration date-the chemicals in the kit may not work correctly after that date.
Store the test kits as directed. Many kits need to be stored in a refrigerator or cool place.
Read the instructions that come with your test carefully and thoroughly before doing the test. Look for any special preparations you need to take before doing the test, such as avoiding certain foods or limiting your physical activity.
Follow the directions exactly. Do all the steps, in order, without skipping any of them.
If a step in the test needs to be timed, use a clock. Do not guess at the timing.
Many home kits show color changes on a test strip. If you are color blind or have trouble seeing different colors, have someone else read the test results for you.
Record the results of the test so you can discuss them with your health professional.

How It Is Done
Carefully read the instructions that come with the home kit. Instructions vary from kit to kit. Be sure to read the result at the appropriate time indicated in the instructions for accurate results.

If you have a kit that asks for a morning urine sample, test urine that has been in the bladder for at least 4 hours. A first morning urine sample (that has collected in the bladder overnight) gives the most accurate test results. Test the urine within 15 minutes of collecting the sample.

If you are using a midstream kit, urinate a small amount first and then hold the dipstick in your urine stream as you finish urinating. Test the urine sample according to the directions included in the test kit package.

Specific instructions
Dipstick test. For a dipstick test, you place the end of the dipstick or test strip into a sample of urine. You will either urinate directly onto the labeled end of the stick for 5 to 10 seconds or put the stick into urine in a collection cup. If you are pregnant, a positive result (a color change or a symbol showing) will appear in that area of the dipstick or test strip.
Collection cup test. For a test that uses a collection cup, you urinate into the cup included with the kit, then collect several drops of the urine with a dropper or syringe. Place 5 or 6 drops of urine directly onto a test disk to complete the test. If you are pregnant, a positive result will appear in a special area on the disk as a color change.


What Affects the Test
Reasons you may not be able to have the test or why the results may not be helpful include:

Taking the test very early in your pregnancy. HCG may not be found. In this case, the test kit may show that you are not pregnant when you really are pregnant. This is called a false-negative result. If you have drunk a lot of fluid, your urine may be diluted and this may also cause a false-negative result.
Having soap in the urine collection cup. This may cause the test results to show that you are pregnant when you are not pregnant. This is called a false-positive result. False-positive results may also be caused by reading the test at the wrong time, letting the test equipment get warm, having protein or blood in the urine, or having hCG hormone in the urine from some other cause.
Taking certain medicines, such as chlorpromazine hydrochloride (Thorazine) and methadone hydrochloride (Dolophine, Methadose).
Taking fertility medicines that contain human chorionic gonadotropin.
Not reading the result at the right time as shown on the instructions. If you read the result too early or too late, the color change may not be accurate and you will need to retest.

Death Valley ~ Thanksgiving Vacation

November 28-29, 2008

1st Day
~ The adventure began. We drove up to Beatty, NV. Checked in for our room. We went to Stovepipe Well Village - filled up gas for the car, then hurried to Scotty's Castle before dark. Yeah it gets dark very soon now in winter days.. A little bit of long drive in the middle of nowhere but Scotty's Castle was pretty awesome. It's like an oasis in the middle of desert; run by National Park Service. I really like that Mallorcan House Castle, so cool. We went hiked uphill to his grave then did the house tour. The castle was actually a vacation home for Albert and Betsy Johnson. Scotty was just his friend bragging/claiming that the house is his. lol. Then we went to Ubehebe crater, just before dark. We were very hungry when it was supper time, since we didn't actually eat real food for lunch. So we went to casino next door, and ordered chicken fried steak. A very fun day overall and then we went to bed early so that we had the energy for 2nd day!! :)




2nd Day
~ Got up like 8.30am and got ready for a new day! ^_^ We went to the nearest ghost town from Beatty, Rhyolite. There's an open air museum there. Pretty cool. We saw 'The Last Supper-ghost version', Ghost trying to ride a bike, A giant naked lady-Atari version, and a couple of houses and buildings that have interesting graffiti. Then we continued our journey to Furnace Creek Inn for lunch. Then we headed to Badwater Basin, a place that 282 feet below sea level, and we spent a good chunk of time there~ just had so much fun. Salty! :p At this point we both started to feel kind of tired. We went driving to Natural Bridge and Artist Drive. Then we started heading back to Vegas. We saw the Amargosa Opera House in the city of Death Valley Junction on our way back, sadly that place was kind of death :( I fell asleep in the car on our way back and woke up when we were near Vegas. We stopped at Panda for quick dinner then headed back to Jason's. A great great weekend getaway. We definitely are going back to Death Valley again someday to explore more! :)

Oom Toni

Nadia mau bilang Selamat Jalan untuk oom Toni,
aku tahu oom Toni sekarang sudah bersama Tuhan Yesus
namun selalu bersama kita disini yang masih mengembara di dunia..

Masih teringat kenangan waktu Nadia masih kecil
waktu bersama oom Toni ke villa di Koliba, Puncak,
malem2 pasti oom Toni ngajakin kita ke dekat2 puncak pass
tus makan jagung bakar.. memperkenalkan aku lebih jauh
tentang kehangatan bersama keluarga

Oom Toni tiap minggu biasanya sempat2in datang ke Oma-Opa di Prima Indah;
ketemu disana ngobrol2 cerita2 bagaimana kehidupan selama seminggu yang telah lalu.. masa-masa yang sekarang ini aku sangat rindu

Amat sangat senang waktu oom Toni melabuhkan cintanya dan
menikah dengan Tante Yun2.. waktu Chris dan Ella lahir juga tak terlupakan..
Hingga sebelum aku berangkat sekolah ke sini, kenangan yang paling melekat ialah saat makan malam bersama oom Toni dan keluarga; waktu itu mencoba restaurant baru Garuda di hayam wuruk yang kata oom Toni, enak sekali!
Ternyata betul makanannya enak dan oom Toni meminta kita mencoba juice Terong Belanda yang sampai sekarang kalau minum/lihat juice itu pasti teringat oom Toni.

Hingga paling berkesan ialah semenjak aku kecil hingga saat itu, tindakan oom Toni yang selalu mengingatkan pentingnya keluarga berkumpul dan sekedar berbagi cerita dan bersyukur atas semua blessings untuk keluarga kita.

Selamat jalan oom Toni,
maaf nadia tak bisa menghantar oom Toni di saat-saat terakhir
namun dari sini doa nadia selalu teriring.

Pap & Mircette

The Papanicolaou test (also called Pap smear, Pap test, cervical smear, or smear test) is a screening test used in gynecology to detect premalignant and malignant processes in the ectocervix. Significant changes can be treated, thus preventing cervical cancer. The test was invented by and named after Georgios Papanikolaou, but was also independently invented by Aurel Babeş.

What Is a Pap Test?

A Pap test can find pre-cancerous cell changes of the cervix.

Pap tests are usually part of a regular pelvic exam. During a Pap test, your health care provider inserts a metal or plastic speculum into your vagina. The speculum is opened to separate the walls of the vagina so that the cervix can be seen. The health care provider then uses a small sampler — a spatula or tiny brush — to gently collect cells from the cervix. The cells are sent to the laboratory to be tested.





Mircette® is a low-dose pill, which means that each month you are receiving a lower dose of estrogen versus some of the other birth control pills available. Many women take birth control pills that have 3 weeks of “active pills” and 7 days of placebo or inactive pills. Women who take Mircette® take 1 active pill every day for 3 weeks followed by just 2 days of placebo (inactive) pills and 5 additional days of low-dose estrogen pills.

Taking Mircette® at the same time every day, without missing any pills, is the best way to maximize pregnancy protection and minimize breakthrough bleeding. In fact, Mircette® is ≥99% effective when taken properly.

If you are a Sunday start patient, it is necessary to use another method of birth control as a back-up method if you have sex anytime from the Sunday you start your first pack until the next Sunday (7 days). Condoms, foam, or the sponge are good back-up methods of birth control.

3 Months and Beyond :)

We marked our 3 months last Wed,
He already bought me a ring (sort of) - a celtic knot cute design
for my early 3 months present; when we were at the Reinassance Fair ~ that weekend when we spent the whole weekend together..
And then on Wed, we were at the bar (PTs; of course);
He came up with this huge purple bag
~ another gift for our 3 months
OMG ~ its the Twilight complete series
- all four hardcover books!!!!
He bought all of them for me!!! YAY! ^_^

On top of that
This weekend was a magical ~ incredible moments for me;
as in yesterday (10/18/08)
First time he said, "I love you, Nadia" :')
& first time we make sweet love to each other..

That afternoon,
I was sleepy and tired.
We got back to his apartment
and I took a nap at his futon
before driving to the airport
and pick Ling and Daniel up,,
Anyway, I got sad dreams while took the nap
that he's leaving me or something like that
(can't remember the detail)..
Found myself woke up with tears,
but he's there, wake me up in time like he promised,
and he held me when I said I had a bad dreams..
He said, "I won't go anywhere.. I'm not leaving you..
It was just a dream.. You are stuck with me."
And then I felt okay, better, and realized
that I am so blessed to meet this guy,

Getting to know each other [part 2]

It was our second argument..
Twice this week.. :'(
*ughh

But it was because of long day of work,
misunderstanding, I was in the class
(so the argument was over texting),
He just woke up from nap (~ still cranky hehe),
last minute plan change (I hate that),

But the important thing is
we survived without a fight :)
and like Jason said, we are getting to know
each other boundaries (and I agree) ..

So.. He apologize..

He bought pizza ~ supreme - with mushroom
& meat lovers, both are my fave :),
Lindt milk chocolate truffles, and ..
He gave me his clicker
(clicker = remote control for the gate)
to go to his apartment complex!!

He was saying that it would be more convienient
for me to come to his place, if I have the clicker..
And so that I could come over more often,

Getting to know each other ~ 1.5 months dating ~ first week of September 08 [part 1]

I wasn't feeling well
inside my stomach was like all twisted
and it was not a pleasant feeling.
On top of that, my hormones are killing
me.. this has been a rough PMS time for me!

Spent Friday at Pogo's Jazz Bar ~ cool place
with Jason, Sara & Claire
end up staying over his place because I'm
a bit drunk and not feeling well enough to drive
across town in the middle of the night..
so.. and I stayed until like lunch the next day
(by this time I think we already spent too much
time together since what I got from him
is that he kind of sick of me :'(
or maybe it was just my hormone)

And I went home after lunch
and I had Ladies night that day..
I still wasn't feeling well
~ my tummy still hurts like hell
but oh well I lay down a bit
and when I wake up
I felt I miss Jason so very much
and I asked him whether
I can see him tomorrow..
which was unusual because Sunday
usually his Guys night with his friend
but I wasnt feeling well and I just
want him to be there for me
(Am I asking too much?)

Then he said "maybe"
and I realized there was tears in my eyes..
I told him I was crying over text
and he called
and he said
"I dont understand why I couldnt
have my own time tomorrow since I've spent
last night and all this morning with you"
and I couldn't handle it
and I cried.. hard... (silently tho)
and I said "Okay.. Whatever..
You can do whatever you want.. I don't care"

I arrived at Anna's for Ladies night
and told him that I'll let him go (the phone)
and I felt like crap
(emotionally -very much more than physically)

I had a good time with the girls tho
and Geneva was wildly there in our ladies night
that was awesome..

Then there were
more than 4 hours ~I think (lost count of time)
I dont get to talk to him

...

We walk along UNLV ~ where he used to spent much time
there.. enjoying the half-moon-night
then we went to Ellis Island for a $1 stout and
their own housemade rootbeer
and we talk, we made up and kiss..

Last night I saw Mamma Mia… with Nadia. More on her later, but first the movie:

It was a fun little movie with a pretty decent cast… Although, it should be noted that Perice Brosnan cannot sign. At all.

In fact, the very act of singing appears to cause him much pain… But, it’s not all for naught, as it is just bloody hilarious!

The plot is very much what one would expect for a musical based on the works of ABBA - Goofy, silly fun. Oh, and shirtless gay men… That was slightly disturbing, but not totally unexpected.

Okay, on to Nadia.

You know, I’m not entirely sure what I should write here about her… Particularly since I know she’ll be reading this… We’ve spent a good chunk of the past two weeks together, and she’s met my friends and joined us at PT’s for the weekly Gathering of Geeks (Not the actual name, but I wanted something that sounded epic), and has been embraced quite warmly by both Coldiron and Rosenberg…

As for me? Well, I keep wondering what the catch is: She’s smart, funny, beautiful, enjoys the same things I do, wants to be included in the geekier things that I do, and has a very genuine interest inme and my life. At no point do I feel like I’m being judged, or being made fun of - she really likes me for who I am, warts and all.

Being with her makes me very happy, and I donno… I feel more at ease around her and with her than I have before. It’s very freeing…

The Guys say that she’s also a damn good influence on me, that I’ve been far more pleasant to be around since we’ve been going out, so I suppose that’s a plus too.

So, one could say that I’m smitten, might even say that I’m infatuated. One might also be considering using words stronger than like, but one would also probably be rather guarded for a little while longer… You know, in case she comes to her senses realizes that I’m not that great.

Scorpion and Orion

I just read this book titled "The Book of Constellations" by Robin Kerrod. Pretty interesting book. This is part that astonished me:

"Orion was the mightiest of hunters, and he knew it. This led him, unwisely to boast to Artemis, the goddess of the hunt, that he could track down and kill any creature on the face of the earth. With this, the earth trembled with rage, and cracked open. A scorpion scuttled out and stung Orion to death. With some compassion, the gods placed Orion and the Scorpion on opposites sides of the heavens, so that Orion sets in the west as the Scorpion rises in the east."

Like my story of life, where my ex (his middle name is Orion) was replaced/"stung to death" by this awesome guy that came to my life that's a Scorpio (his zodiac sign).. LOL like that have any association with the star constellation story.. haha but still.. I like the story :)
